The Herbalist’s Apothecary was founded in 2003 by Steffen Jorgensen whilst a Student at Bridget’s Academy of the Healing Arts.
Steffen’s love and passion for Herbalism stems from his childhood love of plants, animals, gardening and nature. In 1982 at the age of 13 on a school tour to London, where he bought his first book on Herbs and their uses and little wooden Mortar and Pestle,( which he still uses ) He was hooked!
From there it led to him subjecting his friends and family to endure his many herbal concoctions, (fortunately without any casualties).
In 2002 he met his first Herbalism teacher Gina Mc Garry. Under her guidance, he graduated and became a skilled practitioner after only 4 enjoyable years.
Why Natural Medicine
Plants are our allies, teachers, healers and friends. What makes plant medicine so appealing is that it uses the powerful healing properties of plants to treat almost any condition, either alone or in conjunction with other forms of treatment.
Our Ethos
It’s ethos has always been to provide an honest, compassionate and safe healing environment and to educate people about the benefits and application of Botanical medicine.
We take a holistic view of each client, carefully considering body, mind, spirit and the emotional aspects of health to provide individualised treatment. All the while bearing in mind that health is not only the absence of symptoms but a return to vitality
